The Tasting Room and Water Closet

The creation of this house will be proof positive that sustainability can be functional as well as beautiful. My concept for this space is to create an area for relaxation while enjoying the benefits of “green” living and fine wine. The world is still traveling toward a more green planet, but with the inspiration of this event and other endeavors, design and earth-friendly products will marry together to create a healthier world for all. This opportunity to participate in the first “Green Show House” in the Washington area is an opportunity to both learn and teach those who depend on our knowledge.

Known for livable rooms that seamlessly integrate architecture and interior design, Colbert's signature style combines classic beauty and contemporary comfort. Her rooms are elegant and always original. With her eye for quality, knack for translating client dreams into timeless environments, and unstinting professionalism, Colbert is often referred to as a “designer's designer” by peers and clients. Colbert’s work has been featured in the National Symphony Orchestra Show Houses 2000, 2001 and 2005. She received the Elizabeth Warnock Prize for Excellence in the Decorative Arts for her work on the NSO Show House 2000.
