GARDEN DINING ROOM

My concept for the design of the Dining Room has been inspired by its proximity to the outdoor terrace and garden. It seemed appropriate to bring the outdoors into this space, and make it green in color as well as in environmental friendliness. The furniture arrangement with the banquette and table will make the most of the small space, allowing room for a buffet and creating an intimate place to dine. The pieces I have selected have a garden feel, from the finish of the table, the bamboo detail of the dining chairs, the flower elements of the chandelier, to the terracotta urns on pedestals on either side of the terrace doors. The colors are from nature—natural linen dominates, and greens and golds provide the accents. The hemp rug unites all of the elements with its color and floral motifs. The simple painted millwork on the walls will recall the arts and crafts feel of the architecture. 

Victoria Neale has been featured by Southern Accents magazine in their annual feature “4 under 40”. She has also been selected as one of the top 125 designers in the U.S. by House Beautiful magazine. She has headed her own design firm, Victoria Neale Interiors, LLC since 1999. Her most recent show house room was featured in the May 2009 issue of Traditional Home.
