The MASTER BATH
I am excited by the CharityWorks GreenHouse since it melds so beautifully with my background. After college, I moved to the D.C. area where I got a job working at the Environmental Protection Agency. I worked there for 20 years before starting Creative Design Solutions so I suppose you could say I am a “true believer” in all things green. I see my participation in this green design house as an opportunity to show potential clients that an eco-conscious bathroom can mean color, convenience and affordability. I would like people to realize that green design isn’t just the color green (or beige), that toilets can flush away all of the waste on the first flush and still use less water, and that none of these solutions have to cost more than non-eco friendly products. Most importantly, I want to show the public that green design is synonymous with gorgeous design! In keeping with the Craftsman style of the CharityWorks GreenHouse, the Master Bath will reflect a traditional theme but still read contemporary and fresh. The color palette will be traditional greens, golds, slates and terracotta’s conveying the feel of nature which was a standard theme for the Craftsman period. Tradition morphs to contemporary style with the fittings and fixtures in the bath. They convey a cutting edge, contemporary feel while being the height of eco-friendly design.
